Being from a small town in rural Alberta, it was difficult to compete in competitive sports. Since the age of 5 yrs old, my parents drove my brother and myself 1 to 1.5 hrs to participate in our sports. I started at age 5 in gymnastics, driving 2 hrs a day, and training for 4-5 a night made for many late nights. Being apart of the gymnastics community for 5 yrs, helped shape the athlete that I am today. I can attribute my drive and discipline that was instilled in those early years of my life to the athlete that I am today.
I transitioned to Cheerleading and Volleyball at the same time, and found my passion in Volleyball right away. I was able to join a club volleyball team at the age of 11 and play on a u14 team. My first year of Junior High Volleyball, I received the MVP award, as well as my team was able to successfully win 4 of the 5 tournaments that we attended. I have always played as under age player on my club teams.
I am looking for a program that will be a good fit both athletically and academically. I strive for excellence and know the importance of hard work off the court and outside of the classroom, in combination with on the court and inside the classroom. I am always willing to better myself to make me a well rounded person and athlete.
