Lara Kalan '22 Recruiting Profile

I began playing volleyball in the eighth grade, when I went to a tryout for the U14 team. When I made the A team and the season begun, I fell in love with the game. This lead me to train more and even harder, in order to improve. My main goal was to make the varsity team in the upcoming year as a freshman. I trained hard over the summer as well and earned myself a spot on the varsity team as a starter. Through this experience I have learned that if you work hard enough to achieve something and give it everything you have got, you will be rewarded in some way. I also saw a side of myself that didn't give up, worked hard and persevered. Despite starting the sport late compared to my teammates, I put in the effort in order to improve.
