Jaqueline Chavarria '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nahomy Chavarria, I am 17 years old and I am from Guatemala, my dream is to be able to improve myself and prove what I am capable of doing, I want to make my way through the unknown and explore new things, I would like to have the opportunity to compete and study in another country, and show what I am capable of, maybe I am not very tall but I have a lot to give, I am disciplined and focused on my plans, God accompanies me in every step I take and he helps me when I need the most strength, I would like to have the opportunity to be seen in another country and see the happiness and excitement that it gives me when entering a field, I still have a lot to learn and grow as an athlete, and I know that I am capable of a lot, I adapt to the position of game they give me and whatever game method they have. Here in my country I play as a center but I can play as anyone else. I would like to make my parents proud and for them to see that I am achieving my dream along with theirs.

About my sports journey, I started playing volleyball at the age of 12. Due to COVID-19, I had to pause, but in 2021, I resumed and participated in a beach tournament with many young athletes from around the country. My partner and I secured the second position. In the same year, I traveled with my club to Colombia for the International Volleyball Cup, where we finished in the 9th position. The following year, in 2022, we returned to the same tournament and achieved the 7th position. Last year, in March, we attended the International Caribbean Tournament in the Dominican Republic, where we claimed the first place.

Here in my country, my club and I are currently participating in the league. We are in the higher ascent category, which is one level below the major league. At the moment, we are competing to move up to a higher category and currently, our club is positioned among the top teams in our category.
