Hello, my name is Amanda Alvarez and I was born on May 27, 2008. I am from Ponce, Puerto Rico and I am a student-athlete at Caribbean School. I started to play volleyball at 6 years old and ever since then, I've always told myself that I would play volleyball at the college level. Years have passed and my objective hasn't changed a bit. When I started playing volleyball, I never realized how much of an impact it would have on me. The immediate feeling I got when I stepped foot on a court, all the adrenaline rushing up to my body, is the feeling that I wish I could feel forever. Volleyball is the sport I'm most passionate about and my dream is to have the chance to play at a university that not only has a great volleyball program but also an extraordinary academic program. As much as I value sports and athletics, my academics and academic performance go and will always go first. I am a 5’8 utility player and as of right now, I play as an outside hitter/opposite hitter in the club team and as a setter in the school's varsity team. This truly amazing sport has taught me one of the many essential things in life such as how to have compromise, discipline, and perseverance and I know for a fact that in my university years, I will learn even more!
