Hi, my name is Lorena Guzmán and I am a 2023 grad year student. I’m in my 8th year of club. During this time, I’ve been playing as a setter and also working other areas of my game. I’m currently working with my coach the transition to the libero position. I have talked to my coaches about this decision and they all support it. They told me that I would be a great libero because of my attitude, speed and agility in the court. My main goal is to be able to play the sport I love while having access to the best college education.
I consider myself a good and respectful listener. I always try to have a positive attitude in the court and keep my team motivated.
Last year I had the opportunity of being captain of my school’s volleyball team where I learned a lot on leading and motivating my teammates. We finished the season with a win of the PRHSAA JV championship with a season record of 10-0.
I have been told by many of my coaches through all these years playing volleyball that I am a very coachable athlete and that I always have a positive attitude. I am a very competitive person and always give the best of me working as hard as I can.
As well as I am focus in becoming a better volleyball player, I also like to keep focus on my studies and work hard on keeping good grades. I’m focus on pursuing a mayor in Biology looking forward to continue studies in med school.
