Serenity Burk '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi I'm Serenity Burk.  

  One key factor that may set me apart from others is my work ethic.  I have been playing competitive volleyball since the age of 12.  However, for the last three years, I have traveled 80 miles south to Tulsa OK to attend practices and/or clinics two to three times a week.  I go to school, attend school basketball or volleyball practices until 5:30, travel the distance to practice another two hours and then arrive home around 11:00 pm and I do this all the while maintaining my GPA.  I also spend my summer breaks traveling the same distance for clinics and camps. During the COVID pandemic, you could find me outside every day practicing alone. Every opportunity I get, I am on the volleyball court and if the opportunity fails to arise, I will make my own way. 

   Another factor that may set me apart from others is heart. This years Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, said it best. When they tell you you're too small, "Go out there and show them how big your heart is."  I may not stand as tall as other competitors but my heart is the biggest on the court every time!  I love volleyball.  I love making others love volleyball as much as I do.
