Placing fourth at the Kansas High School State Tournament has been an incredible accomplishment for me. During my freshman year, I was on Junior Varsity, and our varsity team had a winning record of around 3-24. During my junior year, (my second year on varsity) with this being my third high school coach in three years, our winning record was 38-8. After going to State and being the only team in our "normal" area to make it to the second day of State and placing, I found a new love for the game. After we returned home from State and since club started, my competitiveness has grown with every game.
I was extremely blessed to be a part of such an incredible school program this year (my junior year), and now such a resilient club program. Going to State taught me the importance of caring for teammates and how to be on the court not for myself, but for the girls around me. This year we only lost three seniors, and with myself being the only senior next year, I will take on a leadership role that my coaches believe I will well fulfill. My goal for this club season is to qualify for Nationals and to place in at least bronze. My goal for my senior year is to be the best leader and teammate I can be and to compete at State again. My goals academically include the following: increase GPA with AP courses and improve my overall ACT score. My academic goals in college will include: receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in nursing while maintaining at least a 3.8 GPA.
