I am an honor roll student with a cumulative GPA of 3.5. I have been playing volleyball since I was 12 and aspired to play at the collegiate level since my freshman year of high school. I have a jump serve and I am a great blocker on the court, which forces opponents to aim very high over me. In 2016, I was ranked in the top 10 solo blockers in a major newspaper, The Washington Post All Met Sports Fall 2016. In 2017, I was ranked in the top 20 solo blockers in a major newspaper, The Washington Post All Met Sports Fall 2017. Unfortunately, all of my games are not listed. I have always been a team player and a team leader by leading by example to our JV team. I have always been very coachable and strive to be one the hardest working players on any team and hardest working recruits you will ever find. I am a committed player and take the sport very passionately and very seriously. Fall 2016 season, I was introduced to the step/slide set and was quite successful with it. I would have to say that is one of my favorite sets. I am always willing to try other positions such as right side and/or outside hitter. By attending college camps, I have become more aggressive with the ball. I was not captain of my JV team, but played the role and encouraged my teammates.
In the classroom, I study and work hard and maintain above a 3.0 GPA. I have and continue to take honors and Advance Placement courses at my college preparatory high school located in Maryland. I do a lot of community service for local churches, my school, non-profits, and all around the Washington DC Metro Area. I played club ball with Metro American Volleyball Club and Chesapeake Elite Volleyball Club, being on the 16u and 18u teams. I have also participated in other sports, such as track, basketball, dance, and cheer.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college/university match at the highest level of competition possible. I have and hope to continue to be a great role model to all my peers and make my family and community proud.
