Gianna King '25 Recruiting Profile

I have played volleyball since I was 8 and I have always strived to become better. Ever since I have first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. As the days went on and I started to get older, my volleyball career was growing. I remember heading to the sand courts in my neighborhood to work on my serving and continue to practice passing to target. By putting in those extra hours, I was able to become who I am today. 

As a freshman in high school I was a varsity starter and have been ever since. I am The captain of our team, I strive to be a leader on and off the court. As a freshman I received High Honorable Mention in the Bayside Conference, Second Team Outside Hitter as a Sophomore, and First Team Outside Hitter as a Junior. During the high school season I have been awarded the Best Offensive Player two years in a row. During travel volleyball season I play on an 18U team, I started playing on this team at 15, and was a starter. While being on this travel team I have been exposed to high levels of competition that helped me grow as a player. I am currently the team's strongest hitter and they can count on me to score during long rally’s. I am very coachable and appreciate hearing pointers from the coaches on things I can do better on. 

          I work hard year round on my volleyball skills and athleticism. I have played travel volleyball for 7 years, and played on recreational teams ever since I was old enough to, attended volleyball camps  and high school volleyball for three years now. I train in the off-season by heading to the weightroom and doing cardio. 

          I want to attend a college where I can push myself and learn on and off the court. I am open to many options and I want to ultimately find the right college for me with the highest level of competition possible.
