Ava Beard '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi.  I'm Ava Beard.  I am a 6'0" Setter and while that is my main role on both my Monsters Elite club team and my HS team, I have also been given the chance to play additional positions, like OH/RS and middle back.  Two years ago as a starting Fresh on V, my coach Eric Wachterhauser said, "We are going to throw the kitchen sink at you kid because you can handle it and will train hard as a setter and outside hitter.  You'll be great at both".  That is all he had to say to me, and now I work even harder every day to learn and do even more.  I am now in my jr year and want to continue playing in college, this is my goal.

Last season as a Soph at Berkley, I was awarded team MVP, All District first team, and the Academic Scholarship award, which is the most important award i was given.  I now have a lifelong love of this game, but I do know how important my academics are to prepare me to enter the medical field.  I am interested in Psychology and nursing right now and think I will pursue a degree or two in the medical field.   I've been a tri-sport athlete for a very long time, playing volleyball, basketball and soccer for Berkley, so I know how important it is to keep my GPA up. My grade point is a 3.9 and I have to keep up with my grades so I can play all 3 sports.  Most importantly, I do know while I enjoy playing many sports, that volleyball is the fave and my #1. I have dreams to compete on a collegiate level and a real motivation to make that goal happen so I hope you'll watch my videos and contact me.
