BreeAnn Spangler '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is BreeAnn Spangler and I am a junior outside hitter from Coldwater, MI. I have played on the varsity team for two years and have played club volleyball with a variety of teams for 7 years.Over this time, I have gained much knowledge about volleyball and developed a passion for the game. Volleyball is truly my love, and it would be my dream to play in college. I am committed to moving my game to the next level, and I am willing to work hard to make this a reality. However, school is also very important to me. I have a 4.08 GPA and take honors and AP classes. I would like to attend a school that is very academically selective, and pursue a career in the medical field. My exact major is undecided as of this point. I am open to exploring both smaller and larger schools all around the country, but preferably would like to stay in the eastern half. The desire to play early in my college career is always there, but I am willing to earn playing time as I continue to learn the game. I have moved into the role of captain on my club team as a first year player, even though several other players are older and were designated captain at the beginning of the season. This season, our high school coach has prodded me to be the leader on the floor, again having senior captains lesson their leadership role. I was selected all-conference as a sophomore as well as all-area. I have patiently waited my turn to be an all around player and to be the go to player as we had a great player when I was a sophomore. I have been playing at all levels and have experienced all positions, from outside hitter, to middle and have even set last season in club ball. My club coach has allowed me to do this as I have deveoloped a much better understanding of the whole game. This opportunity has given me an even bigger passion to continue my career and am excited to have an opportuntiy to explore my options.
