My name is Rebecca Chema and I want to play volleyball at the college level. As a player, I am extremely versatile, being used on the outside, right side, backrow, and even filling in to set a few rotations when my team's setter was injured. One of my coaches describes me as a "glue" player, being able to go anywhere on the court and help keep control in both positive or negative situations. I am able to get along with anyone and believe I am an encouraging teammate that keeps a positive, competitive attitude always.
I take pride in handling a well-rounded, busy schedule while also focusing on volleyball. I always do my best in the classroom and believe it is reflected in my grades, having a 4.1 GPA. I have been on my school's award winning yearbook staff for three years now, this year being the co-editor-in-chief. I am the senior class treasurer, do numerous volunteer opportunities, am involved in my church's youth group, am in the National Honors Society, and have been playing club volleyball for the past 6 years.
