Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of doing something great and being someone great. Specifically, I would love to be able to achieve a huge goal of mine, to play at the collegiate level. I quickly discovered my love for the sport of volleyball. As a kid, I grew up in a volleyball gym, sitting in the stands watching my older sister play. It just became a part of my life, and I’m always looking for ways to become a better athlete.
Throughout the sport, I have experienced physical and mental challenges. The summer going into my sophomore year of high school, I tore my ACL playing the sport I love. As much as it took a toll on me, I still had the drive to be the best cheerleader I could be for my teammates. I showed up to every open gym, weight lifting, and scrimmages to show encouragement.
Outside of the gym, I also strive in the classroom with a main focus in the math and science departments. My injury has opened up a new door for me and made me want to become a physical therapist to help people the way I was helped.
In the gym setting, I am always the first one to get to practice and tournaments. I love every second I am able to spend in the gym. I strive to get better as a libero/DS because every rep counts, and I live by never ending on a bad rep. I can’t wait to be able to play in a new gym at a higher level!
