My name is Alyssa Sienko and I am a 5’7” defensive specialist and libero. My goal is to play volleyball at the college level while pursuing a degree in the field of psychology or education.
I played three years of club volleyball and three years of volleyball for my middle school and high school teams. My sports philosophy is to try my best every play, hustle, be humble, and be a good teammate.
The perseverance and hard work I display on the court comes from my first exposure to volleyball. In the 7th grade I was one of three girls cut from my middle school team. With the support of my mom and dad, I learned from that experience and immediately began training for the 8th grade team. Since then, I have played all the way around as an outside, setter, opposite, or, depending on the circumstances, libero, on both my club and school teams, even earning the “Coach’s Award” my freshman year.
I use the same philosophy academically, achieving a 3.85/4.0 my freshman and sophomore years. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll. In addition to volleyball, I played on my high school’s JV basketball team my freshman year and plan to try out for tennis in the spring of 2022.
If given the opportunity, I know I can contribute to a program’s success with my positive attitude, dedication, and leadership on and off the court.
