I love the sport of volleyball. I started sports when I was six years old. I have played just about every sport offered in the area. The sports are volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, swimming, track, dance and chess club. I am very dedicated to which sport I am playing at the time. I always put in 100%, I go into the gym and workout center at extra times, attend open gym times for the sports I am playing.
In softball, I have pitched since I was 6 all the way to the varsity team at this time, I also played the entire infield along with catcher to fill in with injured players. I played on varsity since I was a freshman.
In basketball I was involved with the varsity team since I was 8 years old being ball girl, learning their drills and attending all practices and games until I started playing. My primary position was point guard and I have also played on jv and varsity since my freshman year.
In volleyball I have played since middle school, I am currently 5'9" tall and per my physician my growth plates are still open. My father grew 4 inches after he graduated from high school. I have attended camps throughout Michigan to include Ferris State College and Grand Valley College. I have been on Varsity since a freshman and mainly play Middle Hitter along with all hitter positions on the front line. My biggest strength to the team is blocking.
In soccer I played center forward until I reached high school then focused more on the 3 primary sports listed above.
In swimming I did at a younger age 6-9 years old. At age 8 I won the state 25 yard free style at Alma College. I had been ranked 6th in the state competition going in with a 2-4 second difference in being in the top 5 and ended up still winning.
This year I have decided to focus all my time and skills on volleyball. I will not be playing basketball this fall as once the volleyball season is over, I will continue to play on an AAU league to further my skills.
I am very active in church activities which are very important to me. I am a hard working dedicated student. I help other younger student to learn all sports. I assist coaches in working with the younger kids.
My goals are to play college volleyball while preparing for a career. If this should take me further in my life, I would continue to play striving to exceed in the olympic's.or other type programs involving volleyball.
