Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Cortney Shirrell. I am 16 years old and have been playing volleyball since age eight. I am very passionate about my sport and hope to continue my volleyball career in college. I am 5'7" and weigh 125 pounds. I have played every position, but I am now setting while in back row and hitting on the right side while in front row. My vertical is 9'2" and my standing block jump is 8'11". Every year I've played in high school I have been a team captain. After my sophomore season, I was given the award of first team all-conference and first team all-region. As of now, I'm pretty set on going into the sports medicine field. I can bring intensity and positivity to any team I'm placed on and hope to have that opportunity in college.
