Allison Berent (Class of 2023)
"Just her presence and how she's carrying herself right now, you can just see this like, she's chest out, just confident and ultimately she's the most selfless player." -Jordan Larson, talking about Justine Wong-Orantes.
I love this quote so much because it describes how I hope and want my teammates to perceive me, and it captures everything I want to be as a player. Justine, like me, started as a setter and switched positions to libero/ds. She has also had many ups and downs along the way, but her willingness to keep fighting and working is what I admire the most and pride myself on doing no matter the situation.
My friends and family call me "Ally." I am a Junior at Notre Dame Preparatory (Pontiac, MI). This past 2021 year, both my club and high school teams achieved great success. My 2021 club team, Legacy 16-1 Adidas, won the 16 Open at AAU Nationals, and my high school varsity team had a fantastic 64-1 season culminating in an MHSAA Division 2 State Championship!
I love working hard, and I love being pushed and challenging myself. I have an internal drive to be the best. I am currently playing for L2 17-1s. It's a new club out of Brighton, MI. I am excited about our season and looking forward to seeing what we can build together and how far we can go. I am a vocal leader with a positive spirit that thrives in high-level competition. I take pride in my mental toughness and competitiveness.
I love to freehand draw, hang out with friends, and listen to all kinds of music, from pop to alternative, in my spare time.
My college goal is to play volleyball at the highest level and attend a university that can challenge me academically and athletically. My career interests are in art/graphic design, structural engineering, and psychology.
