I have always immersed myself fully in the world of sports, whether that be through playing it myself or by keeping up to date by watching and learning how to critique my skills. My interest in sports started right after I began to walk, with the love of gymnastics, which I played competitively for 9 years. Learning to take control of every morsel of my mind, body and coachability, to eventually obtaining the high distinction of State Champion for the State of Michigan. After retiring from gymnastics, I found a new love for volleyball and Track & Field. In these 2 years at the high school level, I have already obtained Honorable Mention for volleyball and obtained 2nd Team Award for Pole Vault (3rd in the region) and the 4x400 relay. I have .68th's of a second from obtaining the school record for 100 m dash. Because of my driven attititude and full immersion of sports and academics, I obtained achievements of Scholar Athlete and participated in the Flint Metro League Sports Leadership Conference in 2022. I also received a prestigious invite to the MHSAA Women In Sports Leadership Conference (due to extenuating circumstances I was unable to attend).
Not only do I want to find a college that challenges me academically and athletically but I want to be at a college that I can call home for 4 years and find friends that I will keep for a lifetime. I would also like to continue to be a leader and role model for athletes (especially women), despite obstacles and challenges that life presents to each of us. This is one of the biggest reasons I like the thought of participating in a college sport, to know that my teammates (sisters) will have my back and I will have theirs.
