2015 HighlightsMy name is Jasmine Shinozaki and I have been playing volleyball competitively since seventh grade. When I was younger I really enjoyed watching volleyball, but once I made the seventh grade team, I fell in love with volleyball and still am today. At practice I find myself excited to get on the court with my teammates. I am always looking for opportunities to improve my skills; whether I am in the gym or at my house. I am considering a major in teaching and minor in coaching so I can teach kids the sport that I love! I have been an assistant coach and mentor at my former middle school the past three years and love every minute.
My determination drives me to excel in volleyball, school and life. When someone says I can't do something, I become determined to show them that I can accomplish anything through hard work. My faith in God keeps me grounded and guides me in all that I do. People often tell me I am a natural leader, considerate toward others, and genuine. I try to be the friend I would want others to be to me. Honesty, integrity, a positive attitude and kindness are qualities that I value in others and expect of myself.
I am coachable and determined to play well every time I step on the court. I am dedicated to success academically and athletically. I understand that collegiate level is very competitive, but with my determination I know that I will succeed. Playing volleyball in college has been a dream of mine for a long time. After college I would love to coach girls and hope they fall in love with the sport as much as I have.
