My name is Rachel Czaplewski and I am entering my senior year at Hayfield High School in Hayfield, Minnesota. I started playing volleyball in 5th grade and fell in love with the game. It would be a dream of mine to be able to continue the game and play volleyball during my college years. I stand at 5'9" and weigh 125 pounds. I am the primary setter for the Hayfield Vikings volleyball team and the Hayfield Sundogs Junior Olympic team.
As I enter my senior year I have the privilege to be team captain, a position chosen by teammates and coach based on leadership qualities and experience. In the 8th grade I was brought up to the JV level and started playing Varsity as a freshman. Although setting is my primary position, I am a very versatile player and am willing to fill any spot my coach asks of me. I am quick, scrappy, and a playmaker. I am a strategic hitter and have quick reflexes when it comes to blocking and digging.
I play for a small school in a very competitive conference. Our team has done well in post season playoffs. Each year our team has received an award for academic excellence. I had the opportunity to play during the off season with a Junior Olympic team which has been a great program to be involved in. We have played well in competitive tournaments involving large schools and elite teams, gaining great experience.
My ultimate goal is to get the best education I can and have the opportunity to play competitive volleyball at the college level. I am looking for a smaller school primarily in the upper Midwest where I can achieve my goal.
