Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Marissa Teorey, Junior at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School and I'm always ready to play volleyball.  As a setter, I am some who can run and control my team, quickly find my open hitters for the best scoring opportunities to win the game. I am a skillful, mindful, and a strong competitor. I am a gusty gritty workhorse on and off the court. I have a strong work ethic and enjoy the challenges of high-level play and training.  I am coachable and competitive. I perform well under pressure. I bring an imposing defensive and offensive figure at the net as a right-side hitter even when I am setting.  I have a great attitude and team leadership. I strive to always have a good attitude and bring positive energy to the floor.  I am confident in my abilities to motivate and inspire my team to give 110%. My goal as a college player is to play at the highest competition level possible and to make an impact on my team both mentally and physically.  I think my speed and athletic ability combined with great ball placement and the ability to run a fast offense will set me apart from other setters.
