Sydney Westfield '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sydney Westfield. I am a 5'10" senior outside hitter from Walker, Minnesota. I have been playing volleyball for as long as I can remember. I am coming up on my 4th season of playing at the varsity level. Also, this winter I will be playing my 3rd season on the Heartland Extreme 17s JO Club Team. Not only is my passion for volleyball important when choosing a college but I want to love the college too. I need a balance between my time at school and my time on the court. I would like to find a medium sized school, over 5,000 students, that is located in or near a city. I want a school where the class sizes are small enough that if I need personal attention from a teacher I can get it. I am open to looking at schools on the East or West Coast. Distance from home is not really an issue that would keep me from attending a school. I am considering a major in visual arts or possibly chemistry. Also, I am willing to play at any athletic division. I have a GPA of 3.966, I am ranked 3rd in my class, and scored a 26 on my ACT. School and volleyball are the most important priorities in my life, and I want more than anything to continue that at the college level. I am a leader on and off the court in my school. I am a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and I am Vice President of our Rotary Interact Club. On the court I have drive and the determination to win. I lead my team as a light spirit but motivating teammate.
