Hello! I am a 5'10 2024 setter that plays on varsity team for my high school and my clubs travel team. I have played club volleyball since I was in 5th grade but I did the volleyball league at my local YMCA in Texas when I was 6-7. Growing up I played lots of sports but my main ones other than volleyball were tennis and basketball. I played tennis until my freshman year of high school and I played basketball until 8th grade. In the summer I also enjoy playing beach volleyball as it improves your game and it's just overall super fun. I got a bid to nationals in 2021 in the open division for beach. This past 2022 club season I made the 2024 JVA watchlist.
As a player I exceed in leadership and I understand the mental sides of sports more than most athletes my age. With that being said I truly believe in "we win as a team, we lose as a team." Growing up playing tennis and living in Nevada meant many tournaments in California where those girls have the worst temperments so I learned quickly how to not get in my head or "dwell" after I make any mistake. I have also learned how to help my teammates when they get in their head during a match. My passion for volleyball truly drives me to become the best athlete, teammate, and human I can possibly be. I love getting feedback from coaches that will help me improve. I also enjoy when I have a strong enough relationship with my other teammates so we can tell each other what we need from each other for both of us to improve. I am also a very versatile player as I have set for my entire club career but I have also played some right side, ds and even some middle. For my high school team this upcoming year, when I am front row I am blocking out of the middle but still setting because we lack in talent for the middles and I am able to set up a good block block, get around the ball and set up my hitters so they can get a kill.
In a college I am looking for a school that will fit me best academically and athletically. I am still not 100% sure what I want to major in but I am really looking into psychology lately and I would love for that to eventually lead me into pursuing sports psychology. Athletically I am looking for a coach that I get along with and a team that fits my competitiveness.
My passion for volleyball is undeniable and I am willing to put in the amount of hard work and time that I need to, in order to become successful at the next level.
