Taina Strickland '16 Recruiting Profile

As an athletic person, playing sports has always been a top priority and interest in my life. Volleyball sparked my interest in 5th grade and from then I've been setting high goals and standards for myself to overcome in the field of volleyball. I wish to leave my current home state, New York, and travel the world doing what I love best. I'm a team player with lots of energy and loud motivation; bs=asically I'm never quiet on the court. I believe that high energy, team spirit and chemistry are key points in every game. As my harshest critic, I learn from my mistakes and am never satisfied, I'm always trying to be better than what I am. I'm not the brightest student in the world but I work very hard because as I said I'm never good enough because I feel that it's not fair to myself and to anyone who believes in me to just be "good enough". I recently just got back from a volleyball/educational and cultural based trip to Finland with the top 17 senior volleyball players in the A and B divisions from New York and I must say that that journey was an eye opener. The appreciation that  I have for my skill has increased immensely and I'm happy to be the kind of player I am and I hope others are too.
