My name is Cindy Lin, and I first started playing volleyball in 7th grade, just for fun. At the time, I didn’t realize how much this sport would shape my life. However, as I watched my older cousin compete, I was inspired by the passion and happiness he had when playing. That sparked my desire to improve and see how far I could take my skills. I began practicing more seriously and even asked my cousin to teach me the fundamentals. The more I played, the more I wanted to challenge myself and push my limits to discover my true potential.
In my freshman year, I joined my high school volleyball team, hoping that a new coach would provide the structure and guidance I needed to continue growing. While he can be tough at times, I appreciate his high expectations, as they motivate me to push beyond my comfort zone. Now, as a junior at Abraham Lincoln High School, I've played for all three years, and this year I’m excited to try club volleyball for the first time. I’m eager to experience new levels of competition and refine my skills further.
Looking ahead, my goal is to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level, where I can challenge myself both academically and athletically. I am driven by the desire to continually improve and contribute to a team that values hard work, discipline, and mutual support. My aspirations extend beyond just athletics; I aim to grow as a person by learning from my coaches, teammates, and the experiences I will face on and off the court. I believe the lessons I’ve learned in volleyball perseverance, teamwork, and resilience will serve me well in every aspect of my future.
