My name is Isabella Matura, I am an energetic team player and I love being on the court. I strive to do the best I can at everything I do, and I always push myself hard. I have been playing volleyball since I was in third grade. My initial interest in the sport was because my friends were trying out for the local CYO team at my church and I thought it would be fun. Over the years I started to realize I really enjoyed playing this sport and I would want to pursue it in college. I loved the cheering, the excitement, the tension. It gives me so much adrenaline and makes me happy. Every time I step on the court I play with a positive attitude and a determination to stay focused throughout the whole game or practice. Volleyball has taught me the value of teamwork, effort, and leadership. I hope to graduate high school with an advanced diploma and get into a college where I can major in psychology while focusing on pre-med.
Alongside my high school classes and volleyball practices, I volunteer at the Our Lady of Snows church on weekends. I also enjoy playing video games and practicing the violin in my free time. I am a kind person and I care about my peers, family and teammates and am always willing to help out. I also like accomplishing tasks independently. Listening to music is one of my favorite ways to pass time, cope with stress, and motivate me to work. I enjoy being in the city and I hope I get to live there some day. I believe that meeting and losing people in my life have brought me to where I am today. Even though I am only 17, I actually worked as a busser at a restaurant, a caretaker at a daycare, a phone girl at a pizza place, and currently I'm working at Sobol. I learned to problem solve, be patient, communicate efficiently, and be able to multitask throughout all of my employments.
I believe that with my skills, mindset, and positive attitude, I would have a positive impact on your team.
