As I grew up, I would always ball girl for the Cornwall Varsity Volleyball team. I always looked up to them and thought they were the coolest people ever. I had hoped to be as talented as them and play on the varsity team one day. In 7th and 8th grade I was brought up to play on the JV team, and freshman year I was pulled up to varsity. I had become one of those "cool" volleyball players that I had grown up looking up to. I started playing volleyball in 1st grade and have played ever since. Given I have played for the same team and same coach basically my whole life, I have learned to see the volleyball team as my family. Those girls are honestly my second family and I wouldn't change that for anything. As I take my next step and start looking to play at the collegiate level, I am looking for a team that considers each other family, or at least one that is willing to do so. Volleyball is such a thrilling and fun sport to play, but playing with girls you can call your sisters is something different. Its special. As for academics, it has always come first on my priority list. As I look for colleges, the most important aspect for me is what the school offers academically. Although volleyball could take a small part in my decision, academics is absolutely the most important factor that would affect my decision.
