Rachel Hegarty '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a  senior in high school and have been playing volleyball since 7th grade. I am a starter on my high school varsity team and on my competitive club team. I love being an outside hitter because I am aggressive and love scoring points for the team. I also like being in the back row because I want to give the setter a good opportunity to set up her hitter for a kill. No matter where I am, I believe that communication and teamwork on and off the court is a huge aspect of the game.

When I’m not playing volleyball, I like to go to the gym to get in an extra workout because I think it improves my volleyball game tremendously. I also like to play beach volleyball, go for long bike rides, and play tennis in the warmer months and ski throughout the winter. 

Sports medicine has always been a huge interest of mine. Studying the sciences is very important to me and will help me in my future career.
