Hi. My name is Francesca Jones. I have played volleyball for almost 10 years now. I started on a recreational team when I was six years old. I played volleyball at the YMCA for six years. I played at my middle school for all three years as well. During my freshman year of high school, I played on my high school JV team and 15 Zonal Fusion Team (Club). Currently, I play for my high school’s varsity volleyball team as an opposite hitter/setter. In college, I plan to major in Criminal Law and business. I have been awarded as captain my freshman and junior year of high school. Volleyball has taught me how to work with others, how to come back from a lost, and how to support others even when I’m not on the court. During my junior year of high school, I experienced an injury and was out for most of the season. Throughout my injury, I continued to show up to every practice and game (home or away) to support my teammates. My experience through those months taught me that volleyball is more than just a sport, it’s a community, and your team is your family.
