As a junior at Cox Mill High School in Concord, North Carolina, something I am proud of is being a starter. The transition from JV to Varsity was definitely a positive one because I was able to increase my level of play and grow as a middle blocker. This season was an amazing learning experience because I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend a team camp at the University of Tennessee, and the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Arizona. At the University of Tennessee, I learned the importance of teamwork and having personal goals while not being complacent. The Nike Tournament of Champions was also a positive experience. The tournament had lots of talent, and the level of play was intense, so it challenged my skills and made me play harder.
I am looking for a program that will challenge me academically and athletically. I believe I would add value to your program, because I have a good work ethic, take criticism well and am very coachable. I also have a positive attitude and good leaderships skills. I get these traits from my parents who've dedicated so much time into their jobs to give me the opportunity to have extracurriculars aside from volleyball, such as beta club and Girl Scouts. Their positive influences have helped me grow as a person and a player, and I hope to continue that legacy through my passions.
