Personal Statement
I am extremely passionate about volleyball! I have been playing since I was in fifth grade. In the summer during my off time from school I continuously keep myself busy. I am a lifeguard at our local pool and I love teaching swimming lessons, and passing knowledge onto others. In the summers I also go to volleyball camps individually and with my team. We have a team league, and we have been to Fargo and Colorado for team camps. We did very well at both camps, and they were excellent learning opportunities. Between volleyball and track seasons I participate in a Junior Olympic Volleyball league. We travel across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota to compete in tournaments.
In my free time, I love to hang out with my friends and be active. Roller blading is my new favorite! After I graduate, I am planning on either going into the medical field, or the criminal justice route. A degree in one of these two fields is extremely important to my life goals. I think I would be a good candidate because I have very good ball control, and my hits are pretty strong. Serving is probably my greatest strength! I am an opposite, but sometimes play outside. In addition to volleyball I am an active participant in track and field. I do mid-distance, long jump, and triple jump. I am hoping to go to state this year in triple jump, as I was close last year! My ability to learn, take direction, and overall coach-ability is second to none. Given the opportunity, I feel as I would be an asset to any collegiate volleyball program!
