Hello my name is Marissa Neff and I am a 16 year old Junior at Brookville High School in Brookville Ohio. I currently reside with both of my parents and our family pet Siberian Husky Buddy and Calico cat Cleo. I have one older sister who is currently a Junior at the University of Cincinnati. My two passions are volleyball and animals. I would like to become a Doctor of Veterinarian Sciences in order to continue my passion of working with and helping animals.
Over the last several years I have participated in not only high school sports but also club sports. I have played basketball and volleyball mainly. For the last three years I have started on the school Varsity team. Freshma and Sophomore year playing all around but positioned as an outside hitter and then this past season transitioned to the libero position. This season our school team finished with an 18-5 record. For the last 4 years I have played on two regional level and two American level teams with Xplosion Volleyball. Both American I pulled up a year. This year I have been offered and accepted an invite to play for the Air City Chicks volleyball club on their 17's National team. With Xplosion volleyball I played several rolls from outside hitter, defensive specialist, and libero. With this club I was on the court during most tournaments more than 75% of the time because I was playing completely around. With the Chicks club we spoke with the two coaches after the offer about the positions and they told me that they are excited to have me on the team because of how versatile I was. They were not going to commit me to a spot but said that I with my skill set I would be very marketable to college teams looking to fill both hitting and defensive specialist positions. In school I am currently enrolled in some college courses along with some high school courses. My GPA is 3.61 at this time and I am scheduled to take the ACT for the first time on December 14.
