I have a passion for volleyball and I am always striving for ways to improve my skills. I love pushing myself and I love it more when a coach pushes me past my comfort zone to bring out the best in me. I truly look forward to a great coach developing me into the best player that I can be. I want to my skills and abilities to be displayed on the court and be a contributor to my team’s victories.
Integrity is one of my strengths that I take pride in having. I value myself as a person and will not jeopardize my reputation for anything that does not make me feel peaceful or content. Peer pressure as a teenager has been a real struggle, but being the integral person that I am has really helped me overcome many obstacles. Integrity is something that a lot of people possess, but I am one of the few students that pride themselves on this trait. I can juggle being polite in character while being a beast on the court.
Academics have become a priority over the past couple of years. As I was maturing, I realized that I needed to improve my work ethics, time management, and overall desire to succeed. Playing sports, working, and having a social life have all taken a backseat to my academics. Getting good grades has evoked a sense of self-gratification that allows me to take academics seriously and to correct my study habits. I feel that I stand apart from other students because I take responsibility for my actions and I am self-disciplined. Other students may wait until they are warned about failing a class or being suspended from games whereas I will put in extra time and effort and seek help if I feel the slightest struggle.
