Personal Statement
My name is Rebecca (Becca) Korosec and I am a junior at Villa Angela - St. Joseph High School (VASJ) in Cleveland, Ohio. I have been a student-athlete at VASJ since my freshman year starting on the Varsity Volleyball team. Earning a starting position as a freshman was very exciting. I felt that the years my parents encouraged me to play at a higher level helped me earn this position. Freshman year I earned Honorable Mention in the DII North Coast League White Division and my sophomore year I earned 2nd team. During my sophomore year I lettered in two Varsity sports: Volleyball and Fast Pitch Softball where I earned First Team. Being a student-athlete lettering in two Varsity sports has continued to help me keep focus on my grades while continuing to play competitively. I believe I have the talent, leadership qualifications and drive to be a good match with your team and program.
My current GPA is 3.6 and it is my intention to keep my grades up and play volleyball in college. My goal is to become a physical therapist and am looking for a program that will not only be a good fit academically but athletically as well. I am very focused and driven, and I give my best on every play. Being the setter with a 5-1 rotation I feel it is part of my responsibility to lead our team and keep everyone focused and positive. It is important for me that I remain determined to get the best out of all my teammates and to help make us better as the season goes on. I want to continue that with my college team as well.
