I hate to lose more than I like to win.
I am this way because I believe that hard-work prevails. If I lose, then I was outworked. Being outworked is unacceptable. I therefore push myself and my teammates to their max. Winning is a collective effort.
Hard work manifests itself during training, practice, focus, and team building. It carries forward to study table, and how our team carries itself. I've been fortunate to learn these qualities from my parents, my coaches, my teammates, and my own readings about leadership.
My goal as a college athlete is simple. I want to win. Winning to me is defined as growing individually as a leader, positively influencing the lives of my coaches, teammates and friends, and dominating on the court.
It is hard for me to self advocate because I am a humble and quite leader. I've succeeded in the classroom, contributed socially to my community, and excelled as an athlete. I have much more to accomplish and contribute.
Please know that I would be honored to be considered to join your program. I would dedicate myself to instilling the highest level of character, integrity, and success for the program.
Sincerely,
Hailey Shebak
