Lauren McCarthy '22 Recruiting Profile

Welcome to my profile! My name is Lauren McCarthy and I am a high school student from Milton, Ontario.  As you know, I am a competitive volleyball player in the OVA. I started my volleyball career in grade five when I joined my school team for the first time. After that season, I fell in love with the game of volleyball and never looked back. Throughout the past five years of my club career, volleyball has not only taught me the techniques and skills but it has taught me a lot about myself as a person and  a teammate. Volleyball has taught me leadership, patience, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, kindness and most importantly teamwork. In my opinion, I believe these attributes play a huge role in the teammate and person I am today.

 While volleyball is my main sport, I enjoy getting involved in many other sports and extracurriculars in my school community. I enjoy badminton, basketball and swimming. By getting involved in these activities I have met so many amazing people and friends who have had a positive impact on my life. After I graduate high school, I plan on attending a college or university that can help me fulfill my dreams of becoming a nurse or physiotherapist but can also help me further pursue my volleyball career.
