I have tried and excelled at many sports, but when I tried volleyball I knew I had found a sport to love. I am now a 16u rep player with the Halton Hurricanes, a premiere women’s volleyball club in Canada. I have been co-captain for the last three years and led my team to the Ontario Provincial Championships in 2016. For the last three years I was voted by my team to be awarded the OVA Award of Excellence. I received a tournament all-star award at the Eastern Canadian Championships in 2017. I always work hard to improve and, although I am recognized for my offensive strength, I am most proud of my all-around game and the fact that I never give up.
I was selected this past summer (2017) to attend the Youth National Team selection camp. I was also selected to attend HPC (high performance camp) for Team Ontario 16u, made the team and then travelled to Richmond, BC to represent Ontario at the NTCC tournament.
I was also selected to represent my Region at the 2016 Ontario Summer Games, in which we earned a Silver Medal. I love being on teams and I work hard every year along with my teammates to achieve our goals, which are always set quite high both in my age and the age category above.
I hope to continue the path towards becoming a highly accomplished volleyball player, earning a spot on upcoming provincial teams, and getting more serious about beach as well as indoor. My ultimate goal is to be selected for Team Canada.
I am looking for a University that will reflect my high level of competitiveness and provide strong academic opportunities as well. I am still trying to determine my future academic goals, but currently have a 4.0 GPA and am excelling at Math and Business.
