Having played many sports including: Hockey, Baseball, Soccer, Bowling, Swimming, Dance and Cheerleading, I found my true passion in volleyball. I have been a student athlete all my life, maintaining an 80-86% average throughout high school. As well as taking 6 University level courses, playing volleyball 3-5 nights a week and training 5-6 times a week, I also have a job as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Being so busy throughout the week, it has taught me a lot about the person I am and the things I can accomplish when I focus on the tasks at hand. I have learned that things in life do not come easy, in order to achieve my goals I need to work hard - even if things do not seem like they are going as planned. I can relate this to my volleyball career because I have worked hard since I started playing to earn a starting position. Going into University, I will be playing with girls that aren't only the same age as me, but 3-4 years older then I am. Starting positions do not come easy, especially to freshman. I am willing to work hard, push myself and take in every word of constructive criticism the coaches provide to earn that spot.
Since I started playing volleyball, I've always wanted to play in the states. Going to many summer camps, and recruitment camps, it has made my desire to be an NCAA athlete just that much stronger. I'm excited to be a part of an athletic family, and with my positive, determined and energetic attitude, I hope that one day my will to work hard will push me to be my best and overcome any adversity I come across.
