Lots of people say they love their sport. To know when a person truly loves a sport is when they look forward to every practice and every match even if they don't play. I joined my first club team in the 7th grade. For 3 years, I had to battle for every second of playing time, sometimes going through full tournaments without getting off the sidelines. But I always loved it, and the experience taught me important lessons that I now use both on and off the court. It motivated me and drove the desire to always look for ways to improve my game. It also allowed me to learn how to ask for help when I need it and not get overly frustrated when something is complicated. Now as the starting setter for both my varsity team and club teams, this hard work has finally paid off. I had the privilege of being the primary setter for my 16-1 team at 2023 Nationals in Chicago and recently was the sole setter for my 18's team at the Triple Crown Tournament in Kansas City. These past two years have solidified that I am able to compete at the highest level, and I look forward to continuing to improve and playing at the collegiate level with the same passion, love, and high energy that I have carried since I started volleyball.
