I have been playing volleyball for about five years now. For a long time, I was unable to do most physical activities as well as others for health reasons. I had tried many sports prior to volleyball trying to be as active as I could. I was apart of cheerleading, basketball, biking-like club activities, and more but I did not want to continue further within those sports. I lost interest in them. After my health complications became more reasonable, and eventually resolved, I joined volleyball. The first time I stepped on the court I was intimidated. I was unsure of what was going on and "afraid" in a sense of the ball. Even so, I wanted to continue with volleyball and eventually grew to love it. After my second year of playing, up to now, I have aspired to play at a collegiate level and wish to continue to play volleyball as long as I can. The opportunity to play at a collegiate level would be a lived dream of mine that would change my life forever.
I am quick pasted on the court and aren't afraid to hit the floor for a dig. I am currently trying to learn other positions on the court besides libero and setting. I have strived to be great role model off and on the court. I try to encourage my teammates as best I can, especially when the moral in down. I am very coachable and am willing to try anything. I strive to be one of the most hard-working and capable teammates and recruits out there.
Within the classroom, I try to study my hardest and maintain/increase my GPA as much as I can. I am apart of my schools MCJROTC (Marine Corps junior reserved officer training corps) which has a lot of leadership within the class. I volunteer a great amount of time to my community as well. I am also apart of my schools National Honors Society and am attempting to join the Key Club and leadership class.
I would like to attend a college that I would be able to strive for greatness both on and off the court. I am open to any opportunities/option that would be the right fit for my academics and athletics. My goal is to be able to be a person someone could look up to and make my peers and family proud.
