To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself as a student and athlete.
It has been my dream to play volleyball in college for as long as I can remember. I have grown up in a household that firmly believes not everyone deserves a blue ribbon and that you get what you work for and what you work for is what you deserve. It is because of these beliefs, that I have a strong work ethic and a determination to achieve my goals.
I began playing volleyball when I was 5 years old with teammates who were 2 -3 years older then myself. I started kindergarten a year early, therefore, I have always been one of the youngest on the team. I started competitive travel ball with the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association when I was 10 playing on a 12u team. The pattern of being one of the youngest has continued over the years and still holds true as I am 15 and playing on an 18u team for Rim Rock. We are currently ranked 15th in the CEVA power league.
As a freshman in high school, I was one of 2 freshman to make the jv team and as a sophomore made varsity, was co-captain, and played all the way around as outside. I received 2nd team All Conference in November of 2015 as an outside hitter and honorable mention in November of 2016. I have also received numerous awards as athlete of the month, and one of my most cherished Ridgeviews first " Iron women," award for perseverance. I look forward to next season where I will get to lead my team, not only as captain, but as a senior. I am excited to share my work ethic and determination with my younger team mates!
Volleyball hasn't always been my only sport, I also traveled for ASA softball and played varsity as a sophomore. I feel having the second sport not only helped give me strength by using other muscles, experience with other coaches, but also kept my love strong for volleyball!
I feel like I would be an asset to your team because I know how to be a good teammate, I have experience in every position, I am a great leader and most importantly, I have great work ethic and determination. I have worked very hard to receive a "blue ribbon."
