Allison Douglass '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Allison Douglass and I live in Sherwood, Oregon. I’m writing you today because I am very passionate about volleyball and would love to play volleyball in college at the highest level.  I am different from other players in that I believe I have what it takes to compete at the highest level.   I believe I have the drive and determination to continue to improve as a player on and off the court.  I really enjoyed playing at the Girls Junior Nationals in Minneapolis in June 2017 with my Athena Club Team.  It showed me that I can play at the highest level and areas I need to continue to work on. I love to go to volleyball practice, camps and lessons to keep growing as a player.  Each year I continue to improve  and grow as a player each year.  One of my better attibrutes is my quickness and agility on my feet as well as my ability to jump.  I not only love hitting the ball I also love to play defense.  I believe I am an all around type of player.  I really enjoy encouraging others on my team to keep on competing even when it gets hard.  I am excited to pursue my dream of playing volleyball in college at the highest level,  because simply put I love volleyball.

Let me tell you about myself.  I am currently a sophomore at Sherwood High School.  I started on the varsity volleyball team at my high school receiving honorable mention from the Three Rivers League last year.  In addition, I received athlete of the month at my high school as a freshman.  I have a 4.0 GPA and plan to study science in college.  My goal is to get a 4.0 throughout my high school journey.  I just finished playing for 15-1 Gold at Athena Volleyball Club based out of Beaverton, Oregon.    I was on their top 15’s team starting as an outside hitter.  My current height is 5’11” and vertical approach jump is 9ft 10 inches  with a 9ft 7 inch jump block.  My reach is 7ft 6.5 inches. My goal this year is to work on my vertical and quickness on the court.  I’m participating in a special cross training program for speed and all body strength. 

I received first team all league honors fall 2018 for my varsity season at Sherwood.  I was a starter and a six roatation player.

Currently, I am on 17-1 Gold at Athena Volleyball Academy, Beaverton, OR.  I am looking forward to a competitive and fun year of Club!
