My name is Allyson (Ally) Dean, I am a 5' 5" libero, defensive specialist, and setter. I have been playing club volleyball since I was 8 years old and CYO volleyball from 5th to 8th grades. I attend Jesuit High School in Portland Oregon. I am on my Varsity volleyball team. I play club for NPJ’s 15-1 National Team as the starting libero. I am a strong leader and cheerleader for my team on and off the court. I feel that my ability to move positions, my work ethic, and my focus makes me an asset to any team.
As a junior, I am taking rigorous coursework and honors classes at West Linn High School to push myself and my love of learning. I take my classes seriously, learning to manage my studies, volleyball practice and training, family, and friends which paid off in that I currently have a 3.86 unweighted GPA and am on the honor roll. Likewise I have dedicated myself to volleyball training. I have been position training for 2.5 years. During the high school and club season I work with my position coach in addition to my practices and workout routines. In the off season I continue to train doing club beach volleyball, position training with my coach, and attending elite player/HS volleyball college camps.
Playing volleyball fulfills me and I very much want to continue to play at the collegiate level while studying criminal justice and psychology. I am looking for an academic program that is academically challenging and a volleyball program that also competes and trains at the highest level. I recognize that both require dedication and time management and I am fully able to commit myself 100% in everything I do, on court and off. I am also looking for a program with a strong community that has opportunities for service as being active in and giving back to my community is essential to who I am an individual and developing relationships with teammates, coaches, teachers, students, and community members is an environment in which I would thrive.
