I found my passion for volleyball in 6th grade while being a manager for the middle school team. I began passing the ball at home with my dad and realized that I really enjoyed setting the ball. I went to a setters camp that following summer and set for the middle school team and at my high school. I’ve played club for four years and at 14 was asked to set for the 16s team. On that team I further developed my setting skills as well as began to hit right side. I continued hitting in my sophomore year but this time as an outside hitter. Now in my junior year at Parkland I am a defensive specialist and right side hitter.
I believe being part of a team means playing the position the team needs which is what I have done these past few years. Playing different positions has given me the opportunity to enhance my all around skills and taught me the value of teamwork.
Although I do not define myself only as a volleyball player, Volleyball shall forever be a part of my life and has shaped and defined who I am today.
I have and continue to work with both hitting and setting coaches to improve my skills. I look forward to playing in college and using my skills to help my team succeed.
