My ambition in the near term is to play varsity D1 or D3 collegiate sports at an academically elite college or university. I am looking to play volleyball for a program where I can continue to develop both athletically and academically on a high level to challenge myself. My hard work, persistence, and dedication will help me in both arenas. With my motivation in academics, I plan to study in the biomedical field and am already enrolled in the Project Lead The Way (STEM) curriculum at my high school. My life’s goal is to help those in medical need using my “out-of-the-box” thinking and knowledge.
My love for the game of volleyball began at eight years old while attending my older sister’s tournaments. I have been active in both school and club volleyball, and have been both the team and court captain for my club volleyball team (ECP) for the past two years. Competing as an all-around player on the court, I have experienced playing both front row (Outside Hitter) and back row. I realized from competing in volleyball that if I put my mind to something, it can be achieved. Along with volleyball, I am a varsity track athlete throwing javelin and high jumping. Last year I lettered as a freshman thrower. Sports, in general, build leadership qualities that I plan to capitalize on during the rest of high school, college, and beyond.
