Presley Carnes '22 Recruiting Profile

Starting volleyball was never expected for me as an athlete, but starting my eighth grade year, I really began to have a love for it. Starting out I was a really, really rusty player, however, my coaches and other teammates have helped me improve tremendously. Starting my freshman and sophomore year, I was on my school’s JV team and I am beyond blessed that my coach saw my potential. I was also captain for the JV team my sophomore year. 

This past year, however, I was a starting middle hitter on my school’s varsity team. I also made the Second Team All-Conference in my area and couldn’t be happier. I am a very well-rounded athlete, with experience and leadership, and I know I will be a good leader for any team. I play well with everyone and I make sure, even if I’m not a designated leader, that everyone is comfortable and well respected. I also listen to instruction and even ask to be worked with on skills that I wouldn’t normally need to use in a game because I know that they are important to know regardless of my position. I have always done everything with 110% effort and I will continue to do that in school and on the court. As an athlete, I believe it is important to be a hard worker to achieve what you want, but also to continue to work hard even after the goal you want is achieved.
