Skyler Shanahan '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a Senior at Pine Grove Area High School in Pine Grove, PA. I have played volleyball since my Freshmen year. As a Junior, I was the starting setter on the varsity team. I normally would have been the Libero, but my coaches asked whether I would be willing to train throughout the offseason to be the setter. Throughout the offseason, I trained to be the setter. Thanks to the offseason training with coaches, I became the starting setter and helped the team win the Schuylkill League Championship for the first time in our school’s history. This year, I will be returning to my natural position as Libero. I look forward to my Senior year and being one of the Team’s leaders. 

In addition to high school volleyball, I play for a club team called Schuylkill Eclipse. I have been playing club volleyball since I was in 8th grade. For my club volleyball team I libero. 

My goal is to go to college and major in Elementary Education. While in college, I plan to play volleyball. Not only do I truly love volleyball, but I thrive on the bonds that are created by being part of a team.
