I’m Ashlyn, a class of 2023, 5’8”, outside hitter, currently playing on Happy Volley Academy's 17 Elite team in State College, Pennsylvania. What I might lack in height, I make up for with my intensity and 9’5” vertical. Everything I do, especially volleyball, I pursue with passion, determination, and hard work. Since I started playing at age 10, I have advanced my physical skills, strategy, mental toughness, and teamwork to be able to achieve recognition as my club team captain two years in a row. My drive carries through to my academics as well: I maintain a 4.7 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted), and have five AP classes under my belt. I’m very excited to play at a college with academic excellence as strong as it’s athletic reputation. While I have a competitive spirit, I value trust, integrity, strong communication, encouragement, and kindness in team culture and I strive to bring each of those qualities to the court with every practice and competition. My current majors of interest are accounting, finance or nutrtion, especially after winning first pace in Principles of Finance at the DECA regionals competition. I'm also passionate about Spanish language and culture, as a member of the National Spanish Honors Society, and hope to emphasize the language throughout my college studies.
