When I was first introduced to volleyball, I was a small 2nd grader at my brother's eighth grade youth group. The kids around me would play the ball for me, and I soon realized that I wanted to be the person playing the ball. I started in 5th grade and haven't been able to stop since. After watching a collegiate game, I realized that I wanted to be out there on the court, making plays and helping my team. With three older brothers, I've always been able to find a way to keep up with them, which has helped me become more independent and hard-working. There's always been a part of me that wants to lead, and in volleyball I'm able to do that, on or off the court. Being able to help lead others and help the team become more successful is the reason that I play, and the reason I want to continue playing for as long as I can.
