First I want to thank the opportunity to be considered to belong to a team in college volleyball. The power of belonging to a team in college volleyball means to me the highlight recognition of my academic and athletic performance. I proposed several years ago to study in a good university so I have endeavored to do and worked hard in my academic, athletic, and behavior inside and outside of school performance.
All my student life I maintained an average of 3.5-4.0 points. Furthermore, I have shown good behavior in class, respecting teachers and classmates' students at the same time maintaining good behavior on and off campus in other organizations. Since my 4 years, I have belonged to different volleyball clubs in the community. Today, I continue playing sports in and out of school clubs mostly in volleyball but I also belonged to outside volleyball clubs. Within the Colegio Rosa-Bell, I belong to the Sports Club from 2016 to the present, participating in basketball and volleyball teams in both sports.
I have won several Athlete of the Year awards in volleyball and basketball in recent years.
I Collaborated with the Club of Sports in college sports tournaments leading table games or some support in the assembly or cleaning required by the athletic director. Currently, I belong to a volleyball club named Borinquen Coqui Volleyball Club in which we are constantly playing important and prestigious tournaments in Puerto Rico and in the United States. Also, from entering the Colegio Rosa-Bell I have held a scholarship at the school for volleyball which requires me to get good grades and have good behavior in and out of school.
As part of my social responsibility, I have participated in collected garbage on beaches or marches in favor of cancer within the school or with my family outside. I have always tried to try to maintain a high-grade point average as well an outstanding participation in sports. This gives me the opportunity for sport physically and mentally healthy and keeps me from having a good academic performance. Personally, I think that sport is a tool that in the future I would provide opportunities for athletic scholarships to help me pay for my studies and not vice versa as many student-athletes think and use the college to make a profession of sports. Being a student and athlete at the same time is not easy to need to give dedication to sports in the physical and mental part and at the same time spend time studying without lowering the high academic achievement. I think that being a student-athlete generates a higher degree of difficulty compared to other students and the difficulty you have to meet both short and commitments will require both time and dedication. If it were part of a college team will allow me to be an example for future fellow students from the school. Also, I think that would be a source of inspiration for other student-athletes who think it is impossible or very difficult to be a good athlete and at the same time a good student with high academic performance.
I am well aware that participation in sport is as important and essential as maintaining the required average notes like behavior inside and outside the university. This opportunity can help me achieve my future career and academic goals. Once again thank you for your attention and through this personal statement and hope you will consider me to join your university.
